Jason A. Felton, MD

I am a native of Lubbock, Texas, and completed my undergraduate studies at Rice University and my medical degree at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. I completed my neurosurgical residency and fellowship training in St. Louis. I am an American Board-Certified Neurological Surgeon and the first fellowship-trained minimally invasive spine surgeon in West Texas. I have nearly two decades of post-training experience in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery, spinal oncology, neurotrauma, and adult acute-care neurosurgery. Earlier in my career, I served as the founding neurosurgeon and Division Chief of Neurological Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and University Medical Center. During that time, I helped establish the region’s first organized, academically affiliated neurosurgical service line and played a key role in recruiting six full-time faculty neurosurgeons. I also served as Chief of Neurological Surgery at University Medical Center, Trauma Performance Improvement Director, and Clinical Medical Director of the neurosurgical practice at UMC Physicians. My work has focused on clinical program development, resident education, and the advancement of image-guided and minimally invasive spinal techniques in West Texas.
