About Johan M. Forslund
Dr. Johan Martin Forslund is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacement surgery. He completed medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine before finishing orthopaedic surgery residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, one of LA County’s busiest trauma centers. He pursued further subspecialty training at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, CA, where he gained additional experience in all facets of hip and knee replacement.
Dr. Forslund has a unique skillset that includes elective hip and knee replacement, complex revision of failed joint replacements, as well as fracture reconstruction following trauma. Utilizing state of the art technology and minimally invasive techniques, he performs partial and total knee arthroplasty, as well as both anterior and posterior total hip arthroplasty.
He takes pride in his ability to connect with patients and their loved ones on a personal level. He believes that patients should understand the rationale behind each treatment option and be intimately involved in the decision making process. The amount of trust patients must put in their surgeon is a privilege that Dr. Forslund does not take lightly and he looks forward to being a partner in the care of you or your loved one.

Everything went smoothly. Pleasant environment, knowledgeable staff and I was provided with written information on what to expect, phone numbers and written instructions for the medications (both brand and generic names were given). The most confusing part was a drug brand name was given but almost all medications were with a generic brand making it very confusing to sort through all the prescriptions even with the help of the medication paper. I had to make a chart. For fast reference, if it were needed, I used symbols/colors that I marked the meds bottle and the corresponding drug Information sheet that came with each prescription bottle.
