About Richard L. Henderson
Dr. Richard Henderson received a B.S. degree in Biology from Walla Walla College, then completed his medical training and residency at Loma Linda University. He and his wife Kay, a pediatrician, lived and worked in Yreka, California, a medically underserved community, for 21 years while raising their two children. In 2006, Dr. Henderson answered a call to join Providence St. Mary Medical Center, and has since built deep roots in the Walla Walla community. Dr. Henderson has a big heart for medical mission work, and spends two weeks per year in Micronesia providing surgical care to island communities who have no other access to advanced orthopedic care.

A natural story-teller, Dr. Henderson loves to spend time with his wonderful family. He and his wife enjoy travelling to new places and being active outdoors. While living in northern California, he summited Mt. Shasta, but says this was in his younger days! He enjoys working on cars and motorcycles, and when he has free time, he loves most sports that involve water (in either liquid or frozen form) including boating, waterskiing, snowmobiling and snow skiing.

So far everything is working out well. I would say that every one involved were professional and worked well as a team. The only downside was that there were not enough rooms available after surgery so the wait in the recovery room was longer, they were attentive to me while in the recovery room though even though they were getting backed up.
