I feel fortunate to have finally gotten an appointment with Dr. Johnson. The referral from my primary care doctor took 7 months for an initial appointment. Dr. Johnson listened carefully to my concerns. She was also able to give me a cortisone shot in my painful shoulder. I appreciated not having to make another appointment for this. I look forward to our follow-up appointment after some labs are done.

Initially I was told it would be at least 6 months before I could be seen as a new patient. Because of a phone call asking about my status in line, I was able to explain that my symptoms were still present and included new issues as well, I was able to get in due to weather cancellations and "switching another patient's appointment". I was very impressed with the helpfullness of front desk and nursing assistant staff, and appreciated my first visit with the physician. Preliminary diagnostic Labs were drawn, but have not been discussed with the physician yet. My next appointment will be the time to discuss those results, I imagine.

I was very happy with my visit with my doctor. She actually listened to me and spent an Adequate amount of time with me. And could deal with more than one issue at a time.

Dr. Johnson is the 3rd Rheumatologist I have seen at Providence over the years... She is very thorough however there is not a lot of treatment etc. Specific to Scleroderma for me at this time as there are only a few medications available that I have not tolerated in the past and didn't help with my conditions. I continue to do my warm pool PT and maintain a healthy diet etc.
