When you choose Providence Medical Group (PMG), you're choosing more than a primary care doctor or health clinic location. You're choosing an integrated network of caregivers, specialists and clinical programs dedicated to compassionate, patient-centered health care. Providence offers nearly 50 primary care clinics conveniently located throughout the Portland, Hood River, North Coast and Southern Oregon areas. In addition, you’ll have access to 90 specialty clinics in the Providence network of care.

We accept a wide variety of insurance plans. When choosing a new health plan, make sure that Providence (PMG) clinics and providers are in the provider network for the plan you select.  Be sure to update your insurance via MyChart before your next scheduled appointment.

Make sure your preferred Providence clinic, providers and hospitals are in the provider network (in-network) for the plan you select. Provider networks can change from year to year, so it’s important to verify. 

  • Read insurance and enrollment materials carefully. Take note of changes to your plan options and provider networks, as well as the deadline for making selections. 
  • Review coverage for your prescription medications. Compare deductibles, copays, coinsurance and out-of-pocket maximums in addition to monthly premiums. 
  • Contact your insurance carrier, employer benefits team or a licensed broker or advisor if you need help understanding your choices.

No. Providence Medical Group is not being sold and will continue to serve patients and communities as usual. Our clinics remain open, and our providers remain committed to your care. 

No. They are separate organizations. Providence Health Plan is an insurance company that will no longer offer health insurance coverage at the end of 2026. Providence clinics, providers and hospitals will continue to provide care for our community. 

Health insurance has become challenging for regional health plans. Providence determined it could no longer sustainably operate a health insurance plan. Providence is now focusing on providing care through its clinics, providers and hospitals.
