Cal Anderson House, a HUD-subsidized apartment building located in north Seattle, is nestled among tall trees and greenery, making some of the 1- and 2-bedroom apartments feel as if they are treehouses.

Providence acquired Cal Anderson House in 2021 in order to provide residents with a high-quality, affordable place to call home for low-income households with a member who is 18 years of age or older with a verifiable disability.

In addition to providing residents with an affordable place to call home, we offer services coordination to help our residents identify and access community resources.

In order to submit an application for housing at Cal Anderson House, you must meet the following initial eligibility requirements. Other eligibility criteria for housing will be verified when an application reaches the top of the wait list (e.g. criminal background check, student status, etc.)

    • 2-Person Household: $54,800

*HUD income limits are subject to change without notice.

Please note that we will run a tenant screening report when qualified applicants reach the top of the wait list. There is no charge to applicants for running the report, and the report is usable only for properties owned and managed by Providence. For information about our screening criteria, refer to the Tenant Selection Plan. If you have completed a comprehensive reusable tenant screening report at another property, you may choose to share that with us, but you are not required to do so.

Please review the Tenant Selection Plan for further eligibility requirements that may impact eligibility for housing.

These three documents provide important information to you about living in subsidized housing. We encourage you to review them both before completing your application.

The Tenant Selection Plan provides further detail about eligibility, application/verification procedures, screening criteria, waitlist order, unit occupancy standards, reasonable accommodations, and more.

The EIV And You Brochure describes HUD’s Enterprise Income Verification system, which we are required to use to verify sources and amounts of income.

The Seattle SDCI - Renting in Seattle Renter's Handbook explains the rental process and has need-to-know rental regulations, fair housing laws, tips and practical advice on common rental issues. All City of Seattle properties are required to provide a copy at application.
