Billing

You will receive two two separate invoices per exam: a technical fee from Providence Imaging Center, and a professional fee from Alaska Radiology Associates. Patients who undergo a breast procedure in the Providence Breast Procedure Center may also receive an additional facility bill.

Billing Transparency

Providence supports health care pricing transparency and tools that help patients and all consumers evaluate what care is best for them and any related financial costs. For our patients, we offer financial counseling for those experiencing hardship during any point throughout their care.

The Providence Financial Counselors are located near the main Providence Alaska Medical Center entrance near the “D” elevators.

Insurance Preauthorization

Most insurance companies require pre-authorization for MRI, CT, PET, dexascan, and fluoroscopy. Each insurance is different and some do require pre-authorization for ultrasound and mammograms as well. Please schedule in advance to ensure we can get your authorization prior to your appointment. Providence Imaging Center is happy to obtain any pre-authorization required by your insurance company.

IDTF Performance Standards
