Surgery for weight loss

When you’ve tried traditional weight loss methods without success, weight loss surgery may help. To make weight loss surgery successful, you must work hard and commit to specific lifestyle changes. Though weight loss surgery is extremely safe, there is risk with any surgery.

Our weight loss surgery program begins with pre-surgery education and nutritional programs. We surround you with support during and after surgery to help you lose weight and keep it off. Our approach includes:

After surgery, you will spend one or two nights in the hospital. Then you’ll meet for regular check-ins with your care team at least every 12 weeks for the first year. After the first year, we recommend following up with the team each year, or more frequently if needed.

Benefits of losing weight

In addition to improving the overall quality of your health, losing weight may help you sleep better, have more energy and a more positive outlook. Losing excess weight may also prevent or improve these obesity-related conditions:

  • High blood pressure
  • Heart and lung disease
  • High cholesterol
  • Migraines
  • Depression

  • You have no endocrine causes of obesity
