Community Connections
At Providence Newberg Community Connections, we are here to support our Oregon community with programs for patients, families and volunteers.
We provide volunteer opportunities for people to help others – whether it’s visiting a child with special health needs or helping an older adult buy groceries. Our programs and events are here to bring us together. When we create connections with our community, we thrive.
We hope you’ll join us if you could use support or if you’re interested in volunteering. We’re excited to work with you. At Providence Newberg Community Connections, we are here to support our Oregon community with programs for patients, families and volunteers.

Members of Family Friends are volunteer mentors who build friendships with children and families. Volunteer mentors are active, caring adults who have completed training, background checks and reference checks. They visit children ages 0 to 11 with special health needs for one to two hours every week. Their visits bring joy, respite and encouragement to the children and their families.
Kid’s Day Out is a fun respite care event for children with special health needs. Children ages 3 to 11 rotate through activity stations – crafts, creative play and gym – staffed by volunteers. We coordinate Kid’s Day Out at local elementary schools six to ten times per year for children living in Newberg, Dundee or Sherwood.

Our Volunteer Caregivers program helps create caring connections between volunteers and older adults to give them tools to thrive in our community and live independently for as long as possible. Volunteer Caregivers assist with anything from household chores and yard work to errands and transportation.
