We see patients with all menopausal- and perimenopausal-related symptoms. In fact, we offer menopause-specific appointments and consultations with physicians, nurse practitioners and certified nurse midwives who are members of The Menopause Society and working to become Menopause Society Certified Practitioners (MSCPs).

An MSCP has passed a competency examination, which must be renewed every three years, to provide optimal menopause-related health care.

    Your care plan could include:

    • Dietary changes and/or plant-based supplements like soy or flaxseed
    • Hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
    • Management of any conditions or symptoms related to perimenopause and menopause, such as hot flashes or night sweats
    • Mindfulness exercises like yoga
    • Nonhormonal medicines like antidepressants, clonidine or gabapentin
    • Referrals for physical therapy, behavioral therapy or nutrition specific content for menopause
    • Risk evaluation for common conditions occurring during this time span, such as abnormal bleeding
    • Vaginal estrogen to help with vaginal dryness and/or painful intercourse, known as dyspareunia

Yes, we recommend that all women have an OB-GYN or other women’s health provider in addition to their primary care provider.

Your women’s health provider is an extension of your health care team. We’ll work with your primary care provider to ensure that you receive all the care you need throughout your health and wellness journey.

You should start OB-GYN care when you’re between 13- to 15-years-old, according to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists.

Once you’ve started OB-GYN care, it’s important to get a yearly well-woman exam – no matter which stage of life you’re in – to maintain your health. Your provider usually checks your pelvic area for signs of problems and performs a Pap smear as needed. They also do a breast exam and offer advice on family planning or menopause symptoms depending on your health status.

During the examination, your provider will also ask if you have any concerns and make you as comfortable as possible. After the exam, they may also address any findings, diagnosis, follow-up care and potential treatment options.

The first visit for a teen or adolescent is usually just a consultation between an OB-GYN or other women’s health provider, the patient and their parent/guardian. Internal pelvic exams and/or Pap tests typically don’t take place at this time, unless the patient is experiencing symptoms that would require these services.

This first visit is a chance for the teen or adolescent to talk through health issues with a women’s health provider one-on-one, so that they can start to build trust and establish a strong relationship.

We offer a full range of maternity care for parents and newborns. That gives us the flexibility to tailor services to your specific needs and desires. If you or your baby need specialized attention, we’re the pregnancy and birth experts.

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that support the bladder, uterus and bowels. Pelvic floor health is any type of care that focuses on keeping these muscles strong to prevent and treat pelvic floor issues.

There are many reasons why women need to prioritize their pelvic health. Pregnancy and childbirth can damage the muscles, ligaments and nerves of the pelvic floor. Pelvic floor disorders (PFDs) like incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse often feel embarrassing and seem untreatable. But we can help you find the specialized care, comfort and support that you deserve.

Every woman’s journey through perimenopause and menopause is different, and so are the symptoms. Some women can start experiencing menopausal- and perimenopausal-related symptoms in their 30s, while others don't start experiencing symptoms until their early or mid-40s.

Some common menopausal- and perimenopausal-related symptoms include:

    • Hot flashes
    • Irregular or inconsistent periods
    • Low libido and vaginal dryness
    • Mood instability
    • Night sweats
    • Sleep disturbances

We see patients with all menopausal- and perimenopausal-related symptoms.
