Providence Pediatric Trauma Services at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital is the region’s only pediatric Level II trauma center. This means we provide highly specialized emergency care for children 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If surgery is necessary, our trauma team, including trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, neurosurgeons and other specialists, is standing by and ready to respond within minutes of notification.
In the days and weeks following a traumatic injury, we closely monitor your child for complications and identify any special needs, such as therapy or additional surgery.
We understand the physical and emotional needs of children. Our equipment is specially sized to assess and treat young patients quickly, and our care teams are trained to provide reassurance and help calm fears during a difficult time.
