If your child suffers a traumatic injury in a car accident, bike wreck, fall or something else, you want the very best care, as quickly as possible.

Providence Pediatric Trauma Services at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital is the region’s only pediatric Level II trauma center. This means we offer highly specialized emergency care for children 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If surgery is necessary, our trauma team, which includes trauma surgeon, ER physician, neurosurgeon and other specialists, standing by and ready within minutes of notification.

In the days and weeks that follow the traumatic injury, we closely monitor your child for complications and identify special needs, such as therapy or additional surgery.

We understand the physical and emotional needs of children. Our equipment is sized just right to assess and treat little ones quickly, and we’re specially trained to reassure them and calm their fears.

At Providence Pediatric Trauma Services, we treat children who have suffered a traumatic injury caused by certain events such as motor vehicle crashes, bicycle wrecks, falls, fire, gunfire, sports and recreation accidents, non-accidental trauma and other external causes.
