Stephen Taluja
Stephen Taluja serves as Chief Mission Officer for Providence, a not-for-profit health system serving the Western U.S. Stephen is responsible for Mission and formation, spiritual health and ethics. He also serves as liaison with the Providence St. Joseph Health Sponsors Council, helping ensure alignment among Providence’s Mission, values and strategic priorities as the organization continues to transform to meet the needs of the communities it serves.
Stephen previously served as chief sponsorship and formation officer for Bon Secours Mercy Health, where he advanced mission-centered transformation, Catholic identity and formation across the system. Before entering Catholic healthcare leadership, Stephen led multicultural parish ministries in New York, Chicago and Peru, providing spiritual care in hospitals, prisons, parishes and universities.
Stephen earned a B.A. in religious studies from St. Xavier University, an MDiv and M.A. in theology from Catholic Theological Union, and an MBA from the University of Baltimore and Towson University. He also received a JCL/M.A. in canon law from St. Paul University in Ottawa.
