Leadership

Dr. Brown joined Hospice of Lubbock November 1, 2010, in preparation for changes in Medicare guidelines that required a face-to-face visit from a physician or nurse practitioner beginning Jan. 1, 2011. Born and raised in West Texas, he completed his undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University with a BA in Music. Dr. Brown then spent eight years at The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston where he completed medical school and a four-year combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He found his calling in the world of hospice and palliative medicine based on a patient encounter five months before he finished his residency. In 2015, Dr. Brown completed the requirements for and passed the Hospice Medical Director Certified Board exam. He was recognized as Covenant’s Values in Action award winner for Excellence in 2013. Also in 2013, Dr. Brown fulfilled his dream of a lifetime by being cast in Moonlight Musical’s local production of Les Miserables with the incomparable David Gaschen as Jean Valjean.
