Leadership and Board of Directors
Dr. Brown joined Hospice of Lubbock November 1, 2010 in preparation for changes in Medicare guidelines that required a face-to-face visit from a physician or nurse practitioner beginning January 1, 2011. Born and raised in West Texas, he completed his undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University with a BA in Music. He then spent eight years at The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston where he completed medical school and a four-year combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He found his calling into the world of hospice and palliative medicine based on a patient encounter five months before he finished residency. In 2015, Dr. Brown completed the requirements for and passed the Hospice Medical Director Certified Board exam. He was recognized as Covenant’s Values in Action award winner for Excellence in 2013.
