Breast Feeding Support
One of the best things that only you can do for your baby is breastfeed, and at St. Jude Medical Center, we specialize in helping new moms gain the skills and confidence to be successful. The first hour after birth is often an ideal time to begin breastfeeding and bonding with your baby. Our highly experienced staff will be there to guide you, answer your questions, and help make your early efforts successful.
Once you've gone home, we offer a breastfeeding helpline, where you can speak with a certified lactation nurse, enroll in our breastfeeding workshops, or schedule a one-on-one breastfeeding consultation. Our lactation experts are just a phone call away, whether you just have a question or need help with a specific problem. Contact the St. Jude Breastfeeding Helpline at 714-626-8528.
Breastfeeding and cannabis
Consuming cannabis (marijuana, weed, pot, etc.) can affect the health of your baby and is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or who plan to become pregnant soon. Here are some important facts you should know.
Private breastfeeding consultations
In the comfort of a private setting for you and your spouse or support partner, you will meet with our Certified Lactation Consultant who will help you work through the early problems associated with breastfeeding. The lactation nurse will observe as you nurse your baby, address any problems or concerns, and develop a personalized plan of care. Private Breastfeeding Consultations are held at 101 E.
