Capacity Building
As an important piece of comprehensive community investment, the St. Joseph Community Partnership Fund provides internal planning and restructuring support to nonprofit organizations that lack the time, staff or resources to invest in this work themselves. Our partnership helps ensure nonprofits can continue to serve their constituencies and have a sustainable presence in the community.
The Fund’s capacity and power-building efforts serve our partners in three domains: within individual nonprofit organizations, within the nonprofit sector as a whole, and in the broader community.
At the individual organization level, the Fund helps nonprofits build staying power by developing fundamental leadership skills for the organization’s managers and bolstering long-lasting structures such as multi-year strategic plans, marketing programs or succession strategies. Investing in these types of internal structures enables nonprofit organizations to focus their resources on fulfilling their mission and providing direct services while becoming more stable and self-sufficient.
