Providence Heart Institute - Missoula
Providence Heart Institute - Missoula
The Providence Heart Institute, previously known as the International Heart Institute, provides the full spectrum of cardiac care, including open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, interventional and electrophysiology and programs for congestive heart failure and heart health.
The Providence Heart Institute brings together an expert team of cardiologists, heart surgeons, nurses and others to perform advanced cardiac procedures and search for new and improved ways to treat heart disease.
We have clinics throughout Western Montana, including Missoula, Hamilton and Butte and are staffed by physicians and other care providers from Providence St. Patrick Hospital and the University of Montana. Our physicians travel to other communities to help maintain heart health across the region.
Our staff understands that families and loved ones have unique needs and concerns and are an important part of the healing process. We make sure your questions are answered and your family’s needs are met during outpatient care. We will communicate promptly with your personal physician.
We provide training and education to cardiologists from around the world at the annual Rocky Mountain Valve Symposium. Each year, world-class heart surgeons and cardiologists debate new treatment plans, showcase new techniques and are trained on the latest life-saving procedures to benefit cardiac patients across the globe.
Each year, we also coordinate the Heart Expo, a community-wide educational event that attracts over 1,000 attendees from throughout Montana, Idaho and beyond. The Heart Expo features lectures from our doctors and care providers on the latest advances in treating heart disease, educational displays, demonstrations, information booths and low-cost blood screenings.
The purpose of all clinical trials is the same: to determine whether a new approach is more effective than current ones in the prevention, early detection or treatment of disease.
Today’s standards of care were yesterday’s clinical trial. Advances in medicine and science result from new ideas developed through research. Our doctors work with researchers to offer new cardiac treatments to patients. Our researchers and cardiologists have created an atmosphere of intellectual curiosity and discovery to advance cardiac care.
As part of the Providence Heart Institute network, we are able to share expertise with a seamless network of cardiac and vascular providers across seven states.
With specialty training and cohesive heart care services, our local providers are able to share their clinical knowledge with providers and patients in service areas outside our own footprint, allowing us to live up to our Mission of providing care to all. In turn, our team is able to access the larger Providence network to continue to advance cardiac research, clinical trials and breakthrough procedures.
This collaboration gives Providence patients the highest level of care possible, partnered with unmatched compassion. Because when it comes to matters of the heart, you deserve nothing less than world-class health care.
