Same Day Care Unit (SDCU) Information Sheet
On the day of your procedure, you will be asked to come to the hospital two hours before your scheduled procedure for the admission process.
Pre-registration should be done a few days in advance. This process may take place on the phone and you may also be requested to come into the hospital for pre-procedure lab tests. The registration and labs should be done at the Mission Hospital Admitting Department located at the Tower One main entrance. Admitting is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Day of the Procedure
Please follow your doctor's instructions on medications to take before the procedure. If you did not get instructions, call the doctor's office for those specific instructions.
On the day of the procedure, please use the main parking lot and check in at one of the hospital entrances for directions to the Same Day Care Unit (SDCU). You may not be the only patient scheduled at your appointed time, so you might have a brief wait in the SDCU waiting room.
What to Bring
Please bring the following on the day of your procedure:
- List of your medications and supplements with dosages
- List of your allergies
- Copy of your Advanced Directive (e.g., Durable Power of Attorney, Living Will or Living Trust)

Preparing for Your Procedure
Follow your doctor's instructions regarding food and drink the day of the procedure.
