Edward and Ann Muldoon Cardiac Center

The highly advanced Muldoon Cardiac Center houses our state-of-the-art Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) and Cardiac Telemetry Units.

Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

All 27 private rooms in our CICU offer spacious, comfortable settings with windows that allow natural light and external views, promoting relaxation to aid in recovery.

Cardiac Telemetry Unit

Our 34-bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit provides personalized care for patients in stable condition who are recovering from a cardiac condition or procedure such as open-heart surgery, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation, a heart attack or abnormal heart rhythm.

Mended Hearts

A volunteer education/support group consisting of people who have heart disease, their spouses, family members, medical professionals and other interested individuals. This group is facilitated by a cardiac rehab professional. Newsletters are published each month and an educational program is presented at each meeting. Meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Mission Conference Center located at 26726 Crown Valley Parkway, Mission Viejo, CA 92621.

A Gift of Heart – An Organ Transplant and Donor Support Group

The Gift of Heart is an organ transplant and donor support group for patients and families of those who have received, are waiting for or who’s loved one has donated an organ. It provides a place to share the miracle and challenges that occur during this process. This group is facilitated by a registered nurse. Meets the fourth Monday of every other month at 7 p.m. in the Mission Conference Center located at 26726 Crown Valley Parkway, Mission Viejo, CA 92621. Pulmonary Rehabilitation Education Program (PREP) 

Mission Hospital’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Education Program (PREP) is specifically designed to provide the treatment, resources and information for people with pulmonary conditions to lead healthy, productive lives. Our experts work to return patients to an optimum level of function by enhancing their exercise tolerance, minimizing the need for hospitalization and providing a full understanding of pulmonary dysfunction. As important, the team focuses on improving patients’ mental outlook providing the knowledge and strength to live healthier, happier lives.

PREP is a six-week program whereby participants attend classes three times a week for education and exercise at Mission Hospital’s Cardiopulmonary Rehab Center. Class sizes are kept small to provide highly personalized instruction. It is available to those individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or interstitial lung disease, however a physician’s order must be obtained prior to entering PREP. If you don’t have a regular doctor, please call (877) 459-DOCS to obtain a physician referral.

PREP classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday with education from 12:30 - 1 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and exercise classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. in the CardioPulmonary Rehab Center. Please call 949-365-2106 to register or find out more information about PREP.

Pulmonary Support Group

This is an educational/support group consisting of patients who have pulmonary disease, their spouses, family members, and other interested individuals. This group provides an opportunity for all individuals to ask questions, relate concerns and share common experiences with each other. The group is facilitated by the PREP coordinators. Newsletters are published each month and an educational program is presented at each meeting. Meets the second Thursday of each month at 12 p.m. in the Mission Conference Center located at 26726 Crown Valley Parkway, Mission Viejo, CA 92621. Healthy Heart and Lifestyle Series

This is a series of educational classes designed to help you learn the basics for developing a healthy lifestyle. Topics addressed include modifying behaviors, how the heart works, risk factor modification, stress management, exercise/activity guidelines and nutritional information. The series is held in the CardiaoPulmonary Rehab Center, 26732 Crown Valley Parkway, Suite 281, Mission Viejo, CA 92621. Heart Rhythms and Device Series

This is a series designed to help you learn more about your heart health related to an abnormal heart rhythm (such as Atrial Fibrillation) or an implanted device such as a pacemaker or internal cardiac defibrillator (ICD). Everyone is welcome to this fun, informal support group where you can express concerns with other people who have similar conditions. Meets the second Tuesday of every other month from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Mission Conference Center located at 26726 Crown Valley Parkway, Mission Viejo, CA 92621.
