Washington

We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to lead a healthy and productive life. To achieve this, we understand we can’t do it alone. It takes strong community partnerships to reach such an ambitious goal.

In 2019, our Providence ministries, along with Swedish, focused on the issues that matter most to our diverse communities by investing more than $619.3 million in community benefit across Washington. Our community health investment teams serve as our eyes and ears in the communities we serve. They collaborate with local teams across multiple sectors to identify pressing community needs and target the root causes of systemic challenges. Through strategic partnerships and investments, we are supporting programs and organizations on the ground that understand the community’s needs and know where the biggest gains can be made.

In 2019 in particular, we supported organizations that are working to:

    • Increase access to health and social services
    • Advocate for comprehensive behavioral health care
    • Be a steward for the environment

Our caregivers play an important role in delivering holistic community care.  Whether they are providing patient care at the bedside or donating to local charities or serving on nonprofit boards, Providence caregivers are active and dedicated members of our communities. By getting to know their communities and building connections with local partners, our caregivers are promoting and transforming our community’s health and well-being.

I encourage you to learn more about the work Providence is doing across the state to help people live their healthiest lives. Providence is grateful for the opportunity to serve as your community’s health partner and we remain steadfast in our commitment to serve all, especially those in need.
