Welcome to Nursing Excellence

Portrait of Chief of Nursing Officer, Jodi Hein, DNP, RN, NEA-BCA message from Chief Nursing Officer, Jodi Hein, DNP, RN, NEA-BC

When I reflect on our incredible Magnet® journey these past years, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the way in which Providence Holy Cross nurses and certified nurse assistants live our Mission and uphold our values through the incredible care they provide our patients and community. I feel privileged to work alongside such caring and talented caregivers each and every day.

Providence Holy Cross has reached its fourth Magnet® designation. Only 9.96% of hospitals in the nation are Magnet® designated and, of those, only 1% have reached four consecutive designations – we are honored to receive such recognition. I am grateful for our nursing colleagues that work tirelessly to help us attain this status. From caring for our community and bringing compassion to the bedside daily, to being active in clinical research and publishing articles in peer reviewed nursing journals, our team of nurses continually strive to maintain a culture of excellence at Providence Holy Cross.

As Magnet® organization, our Shared Governance structure and Unit Based councils continue to drive practice change and positively affect our patient outcomes as evidenced by our nurse sensitive indicators. Our nurses distinguish themselves as national leaders at conferences by disseminating innovative practice and research to shape the future of nursing and provide health for a better world.

I am impressed by all the talent, effort, and commitment that each of us has invested to attain the “Gold Standard” in nursing at our ministry. Our Magnet® journey has been long and fruitful, and I value the hard work of our nurses and their dedication to delivering excellent nursing care to our patients.

I look forward to continuing our Magnet® journey together to improve the health of our community.
