Michelle Edwards

Michelle Edwards, DNP, serves as the first chief experience officer for Providence. She is responsible for ensuring a seamless and differentiated consumer experience with augmented, digitally enabled access and navigation. This includes designing an enhanced end-to-end experience for patients and consumers while simplifying care delivery for the system’s caregivers.

Prior to joining Providence, Dr. Edwards served as system senior vice president, advanced practice at CommonSpirit Health, an inaugural executive role she assumed in 2013. In addition, she was founder and managing director of PICC Health Institute LLC, a nurse practitioner-led primary care center, and a former clinical operations leader for Walgreens.

Dr. Edwards earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree from The University of Alabama, and her doctorate from The University of Texas Health Science Center. A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, her clinical background is family and acute care.
