Patients and visitors should connect to the “Guest” network and then launch a browser. The browser should initiate a log-in procedure whereby the guest agrees to Covenant’s terms and conditions for free internet access.

Wired computers are available to families in the Family Resource Center on the 3rd floor. This space is designed for families to conduct business, research their child’s medical condition, etc. The Family Resource Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Activity & Playrooms

Covenant Children’s has three activity rooms available to patients and their families – Lindsay’s Playroom, Teen Town, and Timmy’s Room. Contact the Child Life team for more information on the activity rooms.

Lindsay’s Playroom

Located directly across from the nurse’s station on the general pediatric unit (third floor), Lindsay’s playroom offers a safe haven of toys and other interactive fun for younger children to play, explore, and relax. Patients and their siblings are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Timmy’s Playroom

Located on the ground floor next to the cafeteria, Timmy’s playroom offers video games, toys, and activities for school-aged children. Timmy’s playroom is open for patients and their siblings on an as-need basis. Please ask your child life specialist or the child life activities aide if you are interested in visiting this therapeutic play space.

Teen Town

Located on the 1st floor directly across from the North elevators, Teen Town is a space ideal for school-aged children through teens to engage in recreational activities away from their hospital room. Teen town offers video games, game tables like pool and foosball, a photo booth, board games, and a variety of arts and crafts. Teen town is open Mon - Fri, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 2 - 4 p.m. Sometimes evening hours are available. On weekends, the child life activities aide will notify your nurse when Teen Town is open.

Hotel accommodations

Covenant Children's understands that hospital circumstances can occasionally require overnight stays for loved ones. To help make that experience as easy as possible, we have provided a list of nearby hotels.

Ronald McDonald room

Covenant Children’s Hospital can be a home away from home for families of hospitalized children. The Ronald McDonald Family Room provides parents a place to eat, rest, shower, or reflect. The Room features a kitchenette, television, 2 sleeping rooms, showers, and a washer and dryer. For more information, call 806-725-5360 or stop by the Family Room (located on the first floor).

The Family Room is staffed by amazing volunteers, and caring RMHC of the Southwest team members, who are there to provide information, guidance and support. Any family who has a child registered in the hospital is welcome without charge.

Ronald McDonald Charities also offer discounted sleep rooms at the local Ronald McDonald House, just a few minutes from Covenant Children's.

Families wishing to use the sleep rooms will require a referral from a social worker.
