Facility Profile

We are committed to providing an atmosphere that is home in the truest sense of the word whether you are staying with us long term or for a short stay.

  • The entire Mount facility – more than 300,000-square-feet – sits on a four-city-block campus.
  • The Mount is West Seattle’s largest employer with nearly 500 employees.
  • Our employees represent nearly 50 different countries of origin.
  • Retired Sisters of Providence and other orders reside at Saint Joseph Residence, located adjacent to The Mount on the west.
  • More than 1,200 meals are served daily in 16 different locations at The Mount; 50,000 meals are served per month and 465,000 annually.
  • More than 200 volunteers, ranging in age from 14 to 97, contribute thousands of hours each year serving residents, children and The Mount community.
  • The Mount has been part of the West Seattle community since 1924.
  • Pioneer Network elected Charlene Boyd, Administrator at Providence Mount St. Vincent, as the first chair of its national board. Pioneer Network is a national organization working toward a New Culture of Aging that is life-affirming, satisfying, humane and meaningful. Its goal is to move eldercare to a place where all care and support are person-directed, not system-directed, where flexibility and self-determination are embraced and practiced. To this day (some 20+ years later), The Mount is recognized as a model of self-directed resident and patient care.
  • Although we have had an on-site day care center for infants and children for many years and enjoyed the benefits this provides to both our residents and the children who attend, this concept has recently engaged the hearts and minds of people around the world. The Growing Season documentary featuring The Mount has made its world premier and is listed as one of the 11 essential documentaries of 2017.
