Volunteer at Sacred Heart
Making life better
For a few hours a week, you can be part of a world-class team at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children’s Hospital through its volunteer program.
This is a place where medical miracles happen every day … and where leading-edge research is translated into extraordinary care for patients and their families.
Providence is also a place where healing occurs, not only by medical and surgical intervention, but by the touch of a hand, a shared smile, a listening ear, a prayer or a knowing wink. It’s a place where you can make a difference through your acts of kindness, making life better for you and for those you help!
See below for a wide range of volunteer activities to choose from. Watch this video to see our volunteers in action.

For more than 125 years, Providence Sacred Heart has been the leader in providing quality, compassionate health care services for people throughout the Inland Northwest.
Today, it boasts award-winning programs in virtually every area of medicine, including heart care, stroke care, neurological procedures, kidney and heart transplants, cancer care and more.
Volunteerism at Sacred Heart has always been an important cornerstone in helping those in their time of need. In fact, in 1960, a group of 25 women formed a Service League to assist hospital staff with duties not requiring professional training that enhanced the service to patients and their families.
Today, there are hundreds of adults, college students and young people who continue to fulfill that mission.
