As part of our commitment to comprehensive patient care, we have the only heart transplant center, the only pediatric heart center and the only adult and teen congenital heart center in the Inland Northwest. We also have the largest robotic thoracic program in the region.

Our team uses minimally invasive procedures in many cases to improve outcomes and reduce recovery times. For example, we were the first hospital in the region with a cardiac surgery robot.

Providence Heart Institute is proud to be deeply involved in the continual advancement of cardiovascular treatment and therapies. Our Spokane doctors were the first to pioneer emergency surgery to repair heart arteries for a patient having a heart attack. This has helped make heart attack treatment around the world less invasive. Our doctors also performed the region’s first heart transplant in 1986.
