Yes, a referral from your primary care doctor is required before we can schedule the procedure. Once we receive the referral, we’ll call you to find a convenient day and time for your appointment.
Before your procedure, you’ll receive instructions about when to stop eating and drinking. In some cases, clear liquids may be allowed for a certain time before your appointment.
During the procedure, we’ll help keep you comfortable with moderate sedation. If needed, your doctor may take a small tissue sample for closer examination. Your doctor will review the findings and follow up with you about any recommended next steps.
After the procedure, you’ll need someone to drive you home and stay with you for the next 24 hours.
