Rebuild and Renew: Cancer Wellness Programs
Providence Cancer Care is pleased to offer a variety of FREE Cancer Wellness classes. All classes are available through Zoom and open to all patients, whether currently in treatment, having had cancer or living life’s journey with cancer. Classes are held 5 days a week and designed to support patients in a community setting, through a variety of integrative therapies and modalities. Patients do not need to be a Providence patient to attend.
There is a silver lining to the current state of gathering in our world. Through Zoom, it is possible for patients to safely join in classes from their own home, whether they live locally or across the United States. The belief behind Providence Cancer Wellness Program and gathering in community, stands more evident now than ever:
Together We Are Stronger!
Mondays | 10 - 11:30 a.m.
A practice using healing sound, meditative movement to promote a deeper sense of peace, well-being and balance.
Tuesdays & Thursdays | 10 - 11:30 a.m.
This class promotes centering through movement, meditation and relaxation; with time for information sharing and community discussion.
Wednesdays | 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
A unique cancer patient support group, led by licensed marriage and family therapist and cancer survivor. There is time for sharing thoughts and building community through words, art/doodling and guided meditation.
Last Thursday of each month | 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
"The Power of Healthy Eating," with registered dietician/nutritionist.
Thursdays | 2:30 - 4 p.m.
Art Therapy is guided by a local artist and cancer survivor, in a step-by-step format that enables and encourages individuals to create their own pathway toward health and wellbeing through the enjoyment of art.
Fridays | 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Patient group support, led by a Providence licensed marriage and family therapist. There is opportunity to find emotional support and encouragement from others coping with cancer. It is a safe place to share resources, learn new ways to manage fatigue, stress and explore ideas on the art of balancing life with a cancer diagnosis.
Fridays | 2 - 4 p.m.
Sound therapy to promote wellness and healing through gentle movement, a sound journey using a variety of instruments and guided meditation.
Additional Ongoing Cancer Wellness Programs
Local musicians perform monthly outside treatment room; specifically for patients receiving treatment that day.
Special wishes granted at critical points in a patient’s cancer treatment and journey.
For men supporting loved ones through cancer. Find support and encouragement through shared experiences.
