Nurse Aide Training Program

Ready to start a career in healthcare — and get paid while you learn? Our Nurse Aide Training Program is your first step. You'll earn an hourly wage from day one, and Providence covers the cost of your training materials, nursing assistant application fees and CNA certification exam fees.

What You'll Learn

During the program, you'll learn in the classroom, practice hands-on skills and care for patients in a supervised healthcare setting. Step by step, you'll build the knowledge and confidence to care for patients safely and compassionately. By the time you finish, you'll be ready to take the CNA certification exam and begin working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

You'll learn how to:

  • Help patients with daily activities such as eating, dressing and bathing
  • Keep patients safe and comfortable
  • Take vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
  • Help patients move safely
  • Notice and report changes in a patient's condition
  • Work as part of a healthcare team
  • Treat every patient with kindness, dignity and respect

What's Included in the Program

We give you everything you need to succeed — and we pay for it:

  • Classroom and online learning
  • Hands-on skills practice
  • Supervised clinical experience caring for patients
  • Support preparing for the CNA certification exam
  • Real experience working in a healthcare setting

When you finish, you'll have the skills and the confidence to take the CNA exam and start caring for patients. Becoming a CNA is also a powerful first step if you hope to grow into other healthcare careers down the road.

What Happens After Graduation

Graduating is just the beginning. After you complete the program, you'll begin working full-time at Providence. As you work, you'll keep studying and preparing to take the Alaska State CNA Exam.

Once you pass the state exam:

  • Your job title changes from Nursing Assistant to Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • You receive a pay increase
  • You continue your career with Providence, gaining valuable hands-on experience caring for patients
