St. Patrick is a Magnet Hospital!

In 1981 the American Academy of Nursing commissioned a study to identify hospitals with the best nursing practices in the country The term "Magnet" was adopted to describe these select hospitals, because they acted as magnets in attracting and retaining outstanding nurses. The Magnet Recognition Program is run by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and "recognizes health care organizations for quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice."

As an affirmation of the excellent care that its nurses provide every day, Providence St Patrick Hospital received its first Magnet designation in 2013 and received Magnet re-designation in October, 2018.This designation places St. Patrick among the top eight percent of hospitals in the world, and makes it only one of two hospitals in Montana to receive this honor.

The Magnet Journey continues

Although St. Patrick Hospital nurses are honored and excited by our Magnet designation, the Magnet Journey continues. To maintain Magnet status, organizations must re-apply every four years to display ongoing efforts in the pursuit of nursing excellence and good patient outcomes. Throughout the process, St. Patrick's nurses remain focused on providing excellent nursing care, improving our patients’ experiences, developing our staff and raising the level of our profession.
