Cancer Wellness Programs
Providence Cancer Care is pleased to offer a variety of free Cancer Wellness classes. Classes are held 5 days a week and are designed to support patients in a community setting, through a variety of integrative therapies and modalities. The majority of classes are available on Zoom, with an additional in-person program in Petaluma on Tuesday mornings.
All programs and classes are free and open to anyone in treatment, having had cancer or living life’s journey with cancer; no matter where they live or receive care.

The following classes are held virtually using Zoom, except for the Tuesday Wellness Walks which take place in person in Petaluma. Please contact us at the above email address or phone number to receive links to our free Zoom classes.
- Mondays | 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Qigong – A practice using healing sound and meditative movement to promote a deeper sense of peace, well-being and balance. - Tuesdays | 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. (In-person)
Wellness Walks in Petaluma with Dr. Keck – Dr. Sarah Keck believes that regular physical activity is the foundation for health and wellness. She sees that a sense of community and human connection is crucial. Join us as we connect in-person through walking and stay for a different practice each week with one of our Wellness Programs teachers. We have gentle yoga, chair massage, art and gentle movement and meditation. - Tuesdays | 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Gentle Yoga – This class promotes centering through movement, meditation and relaxation; with time for information sharing and community discussion. - Tuesdays | 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.
Young Adults Support Group – Join other young adults in this lunchtime support group, led by a Providence licensed marriage and family therapist. - Wednesdays | 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Journeying Together – A unique cancer patient support group, led by a licensed marriage and family therapist and cancer survivor. There’s time for sharing, building community through words and creativity; closing with guided meditation. - Wednesdays | 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Sounds Healing/Meditation – Sound therapy to promote wellness and healing through gentle movement, a sound journey using a variety of instruments and guided meditation. - Thursdays | 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Gentle Yoga – This class promotes centering through movement, meditation and relaxation; with time for information sharing and community discussion. - Thursdays | 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Patient Support Group – There’s opportunities to find emotional support and encouragement from others coping with cancer. This support group is led by a Providence license marriage and family therapist and is a safe place to share resources, learn new ways to manage fatigue and stress and explore ideas on the art of balancing life with a cancer diagnosis. - Thursdays | 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Art from the Heart – Art as therapy is guided by a local artist and cancer survivor, in a step-by-step format that enables and encourages individuals to create their own pathway toward health and well-being through the enjoyment of art. - Fridays | 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Expandance® Gentle Movement – Using the expandance® technique, a somatic movement practice; get more comfortable in your body, learn how to listen to your body and how to connect with your inner wisdom and creativity. - Fridays | 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.
Loving Someone with Cancer Support Group – When a loved one has cancer, their life has changes and so does yours. Join others with similar experiences in this weekly support group led by a Providence licensed marriage and family therapist.
From creative outlets and nutritional classes, to support groups and live music, our monthly offerings are available to help those going through treatment or on a cancer journey and their loved ones. The following are held virtually on Zoom, except for Outdoor Music Therapy which is held outside of treatment rooms.
- Third Tuesday of every month | 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Beginning Art – Beginning “art as therapy,” guided by a local artist and cancer survivor, is a step-by-step format that enables and encourages individuals to create their own pathway toward health and well-being through the enjoyment of art. - Last Monday of every month | 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Journeying Together – This is a unique cancer patient support group, led by a licensed marriage and family therapist and cancer survivor. There’s time for sharing thoughts and building community through words, art/doodling and guided meditation. - Last Wednesday of every month | 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Evening Gentle Yoga – This class promotes centering through movement, meditation and relaxation with time for information sharing and community discussion. - Last Friday of every month | 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
The Power of Healthy Eating – Led by a registered dietitian/nutritionist, this nutrition group will discuss the benefits of a well-balanced diet. - Days vary depending on weather | 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Outdoor Music Therapy – Local musicians perform monthly outside treatment rooms, specifically for patients receiving treatment that day.

Our Cancer Wellness offerings are available for anyone that’s been touched by cancer; past or present, patient or loved ones, no matter where you live or receive care – we welcome you.
- Men’s Peer Support – An on-going peer mentoring for men supporting their loved ones through cancer
- Special Wishes – For those with wishes that are granted at critical points in a patient’s cancer treatment and journey
