Medical Observership

At Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, we have two programs that allow observation of a clinician. Individuals must secure their own sponsor for both a Job Shadow and Medical Observership.

Job Shadowing - High School Student/Other:

  • Applicants must be at least a high school senior.
  • The job shadow program is limited to an 8-hour experience and is for those who are interested in the healthcare field. Job shadows are not permitted in the operating room.
  • Job shadows are processed by the Volunteer Services department. You can review the application process HERE.
  • All other volunteer opportunities can be viewed HERE.

Medical Observership - College Student/Other Learner:

  • The Medical Observership program was created for those who require hours of observation for application to medical school, a certificate program, or foreign medical graduate observation hours to obtain certification.
  • This program has a cap of 60 hours per calendar year.
  • Medical observers are permitted in the operating room with approval from operating room leadership.
  • Applicants must provide proof of need by providing the name of the program or school they are applying for.
  • Applicants must secure their own sponsor who is either a PMG or PRMCE employee, or a member of the medical staff.

If you have confirmed a sponsor for a medical observership, complete the following form to begin the onboarding process.

Please allow 7-10 business days for processing new observation requests.
